Recently I had 22 panels put onto our roof through FGE Solar . I would like to thank them for their expert advise and professional service. The panels are working better than expected, They were installed at the end of the summer period so did not get the full benefit of building up a huge credit going into the winter period and that's normally when our biggest electricity bill is. Recently my wife and I decided to get a solar system put in, but who to choose? There are dozens of companies to choose from with different prices and products. Looking closer into this we both decided to go with a company that's been around for a while, not just the last few years, hence we decided to approach FGE Solar. Reading up a little on the company we learnt that they have been around for a decade, they use quality product and are a South Australian company unlike many of the others. When a sales person came out to our home to give us a quote we learnt even more. The sales person's knowledge of the product, his explanation of how a solar system works, the best way to get the most out of the system, tariffs and how they work and all the waiting periods was explained in a very understandable way, which made our decision so much easier. FGE Solar was the company for us, easy to deal with, prompt connection both with ETSA and installation of the solar system made for a wonderful experience. I have, and will continue to promote and recommend FGE Solar to whoever asks me about Solar Systems.

I have just completed 12 months of input from panels supplied and installed by FGE Solar and thought you may be interested in some feedback. Being a retired I have been monitoring inverter and meter quite religiously and have detailed data for Nuriootpa SA if it helps.

In summary:
Panels (1.5 kW) produced 2393 kWh in the 12 months (was estimated to be 2400 kWh- a bit careless! Must have forgotten about that one cloudy day last February!!!)
Of this, house used 690 kWh enabling us to export 1703 kWh. As we only imported 1530 kWh (was estimated to be 2700 kWh so well out with that one-we are on Natural gas) we are well ahead in our electricity bill.

As you may expect we are thrilled with our investment and estimate return (savings + export) of $920 for the year which more than covers our gas and electricity costs of $870 for the year.

Having spoken to others who went with different suppliers/installers we cannot speak too highly of the service we received. Panels installed/working on date provided, Import/Export meter installed before panels, no problems encountered. Thanks! Choosing the right company for a solar system is critical. It's too easy to end up with an expensive collection of malfunctioning glass and steel. So when we went solar hunting, we looked long and hard for a reputable company. Too many little businesses are saying they are solar companies, when really they are just small businesses with no solar experience.

We chose FGE Solar because they are a real solar business - a company that exists just to sell and install solar systems. We were impressed with the info they gave us, and the products they use (reputable suppliers with quality products). We did not want to "save" a little money for inferior Chinese panels.

The entire process was simple and very professional. Quoting was in-depth but straightforward. Obviously FGE Solar cared about the job and was not flying by to spend 2 minutes on a generic quote. We were given options and no hard sell. Installation was serious, with four installers, all professional, easily doing the install in about four hours. They did a neat and thorough job and were very polite.

The job was followed up by an inspection, and FGE Solar arranged our new meter.

It could have been a scary ripoff, but instead was an easy process. We can't think of anyone else we would go with if we were doing it again.
